A wholesome day in March

Off again to Virtuous Bread HQ to bake Scandinavian bread and to catch up with Jane about the latest news. We soon realised that baking and lap top working wasn’t a good mix; multitasking is too distracting and no one wants to risk burning expensive bread.

A fruit and nut bread was today’s challenge and due to a poorly edited cookbook, it actually turned out to be well, quite a challenge. Confused about vague description and a dough that didn’t rise, we were worried that we’d end up with flatbread.

No need to worry. The bread came out fine, and with pecan nuts, hazelnuts, apple and apricots this is a multitasking savoury and sweet bread. With blue cheese or as a slice to your tea, you won’t be able to stop eating it –  I promise.

Also, doesn’t the cracked wheat and lamb soup look nice?
