There’s no end to all the supper clubs popping up, and praise the Lord for that. With celebrity chefs catching on to the trend, the underground kitchens seem to be getting bigger, better and tastier.
We’ve seen Mark Hix, David Chang and Ben Greeno make various appearances, adding a bit of stardust to the concept. And now it’s Savoy Truffle Supperclub’s turn to shine.
Savoy Truffle Club is not a newcomer to the circuit, it’s been around, flexed its muscles – and is now upping the supper game even further. From 13-17 October, co-founder Gavin Billenness is teaming up with Bombay Sapphire launching a week-long pop up restaurant (the other major trend of the year), as part of London Restaurant Week.
Usually based in Billenness’s Blackheath living room, the supper club will swap South London for North, but the location is yet to be revealed. Can we expect another über-cool warehouse setting like the pop-up on everyone’s lips, Finnish Hel Yes?
The dinner experience will have Bombay Sapphire’s mixologist Sam Carter spin the bottles and create bespoke cocktails for the lucky diners. Don’t fear that the gin will get to your head though, the 5-course menu (with produce from the chef’s own organic allotment) sounds like gastronomic bliss.
If you’ve got £65 to spare… you better grab a ticket now.
